Canada eTA (eVisa) requirements for Armenian citizens

If you are an Armenian citizen wanting to visit Canada for vacation, business, or to see family, you will require a Canada Visa.

While we do not presently provide this visa, we have compiled all of the necessary information to assist you complete the process efficiently.

1. Check Canada eTA (eVisa) requirements for Armenian citizens

Armenia passport holders are NOT ELIGIBLE for eTA

There are different types of Canada Visit Visas, such as Standard Visitor Visa, Family Visitor Visa, Business Visitor Visa, etc. You should select the one that corresponds to the purpose of your visit.

To apply for a Canada visa, you need to meet the following Canada visitor visa requirements.

• Valid passport
• Passport-sized photographs
• Bank statements to show you can support yourself during the visit
• Invitation letter (if applicable)
• Itinerary of your trip

Any supporting documents related to your visit's purpose (e.g., business meetings, family events, etc.)

• Biometric Appointment: After submitting your online application, you must schedule a biometric appointment at the Visa Application Center. During this appointment, your fingerprints and photograph will be taken.
• Payment of Fees: As part of the application process, pay the visa application fee online. Fees may vary depending on the type of visa you are applying for.
• Attend an interview: In some cases, you may be required to attend an interview at the Visa Application Center. This is more common for specific types of visas or when more information is required.
• Waiting period: After submitting your application and attending a biometric appointment, you must wait for your visa to be processed. Processing times may vary depending on factors such as visa type, time of year and your circumstances.
• Decision: You will be notified of the decision on your visa application. If your application is approved, a visa will be stamped in your passport and you will be allowed to travel to Canada for the specified purpose and duration.

It is important to provide accurate and complete information in your application and to ensure that you meet all the requirements for the specific type of visa you are applying for.

2. How To Apply Canada eTA For Armenian Citizens?

Citizens of Armenia need to apply for a visa at the Canada Embassy in Armenia

There are two ways to apply for a Canada visit visa from Armenia

• Online application
• Manual application

Applying for a Canadian visa online is suggested since it saves time and money. You will not have to pay for courier services or wait for mail delivery time. Instead, your application will be received and processed faster than those submitted manually.

Furthermore, while applying online, the system will advise you of any missing papers or insufficient information. Similarly, you may simply submit supplementary papers online and track the status of your application using your online account. Applicants who apply in person, on the other hand, must rely on ordinary mail to obtain and submit papers, which can be time-consuming.
Since most people apply for a Canadian tourist visa online, here’s a step-by-guide on how to go about it.

• Step 1: Visit the official website of the Government of Canada, click on “Immigration and Citizenship” and then click on “Access”.
• Step 2: Click on “Find out if you need a visa”. You will be redirected to a questionnaire that you can fill out to find out if you need a Canadian Visitor Visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
• Step 3: If you are eligible for a visa, click on the “Apply for a Visitor Visa” button. This will redirect you to a web page with all the relevant information about the application process.
• Step 4: Once you have read all the information, click on “Apply” in the top navigation bar and choose your preferred method of submitting your application. If you choose “Paper”, you will be asked to download an application package. This will also include the complete Canadian Visitor Visa Checklist. However, if you select the “Online” option, you will be redirected to another page. Click on “Apply for a Visitor Visa” to continue.
• Step 5: If you are applying for a Canadian visitor visa for the first time, you must click on the “Register” button.
• Step 6: You can now register for an IRCC Secure Account using your GC Key or Login Partner. The latter requires your Canadian online banking information, so it is recommended that you use the GC Key to register. Click on the desired button to be redirected to the next page.
• Step 7: Once logged in, you can begin completing the online Canada Visa Application Form.
• Step 8: Upload scanned copies of the required documents and submit your application along with the application fee. For this, you will need a valid credit or debit card.
• Step 9: It will take approximately 5 days for the application to appear in your IRCC account.
• Step 10: If your application is positively reviewed, you will need to visit the Canadian Consulate for an interview and/or biometric information. Please note that there is a separate fee for biometrics.
• Step 11: Once your Canada visa application is approved, you must submit your passport to the Consulate for stamping. For online applicants, the Consulate will notify you where to send your passport for further processing. You must also pay a processing fee.
• Step 12: The stamped passport will be given to you or mailed to you. Upon receipt, please check all details to ensure that there are no errors.
