Can a minor travel to Canada without a passport?
There are several methods to get to Canada, and your travel mode will influence your travel documents. Consider your options as follows:
1. Air
Passengers flying in and out of Canada must have valid passports. This regulation applies to youngsters as well. Passport cards and other travel documents cannot be used for international flight travel. You can see more Canada entry requirements for US citizens
2. Sea
You can travel to Canada by sea in two ways:
- Closed-Loop Cruises: These begin and conclude at US ports. As a result, most cruise lines allow youngsters to join ships with only their birth, citizenship, or naturalization certificates. However, some may need minors to have legitimate passports.
- Standard Cruises: These begin or conclude at a non-US port and require all passengers, including children, to have valid passport books.
3. Road
Kids traveling in and out of Canada by road don’t need passport books. Instead, they can use their birth/ naturalization/ citizenship certificates.
