Can I apply for an ETA before booking accommodation in Canada?

You are not required to provide proof of accommodation while applying for a Canada eTA. Only the following documents and information are required:

Valid biometric passport.
Debit or credit card.
Contact information, including email and residence address.

Although it is a good idea to reserve accommodations in Canada ahead of time, especially in popular places, doing so before registering for the Canada eTA is optional.

To apply for a Canada eTA, travelers must complete an online application form. This is incredibly quick and straightforward, and candidates need only spend approximately 15 minutes.
