Do Chilean citizens need an eTA to cross the Canadian border?
Yes, Chilean citizens need a Canada Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to cross the Canadian border by air. Electronic travel authorization, or eTA, is an online pre-screening of travelers from more than 50 countries, including the United Kingdom, Chile, European countries, Japan, and others, who can fly to Canada without a visa.
Chileans, on the other hand, do not require an eTA to enter the Canadian border by land or cruise. They only need to display a valid passport at the border.
To travel to Canada without a visa, Chilean citizens must meet the following requirements:
-
To enter Canada, you must have a biometric passport. Remember that your ETA will be linked to this passport.
-
To make the relevant payment, use a debit or credit card. You may also make use of your PayPal account.
-
Last but not least, you must have a working email account. Keep in mind that you will receive confirmation from your ETA via this method.
