How long can a German citizen stay in Canada?
The Canada ETA for German citizens permits stays of up to 6 months. However, the actual length of stay will be established by a border Service Officer at the point of entry in Canada, and the date by which tourists must depart Canada will be marked on the passport. If a traveler wants to stay longer than the approved stay term, they must request an eTA extension at least 30 days before it expires.
When you enter Canada as a guest, a border services official will stamp your passport with your departure date. This stamp will reflect the length of your approved stay, which is usually up to six months from the date of admission.
It should be noted that the maximum time of six months is not automatically given, and the border services officer has the authority to authorize a lesser period based on the circumstances. To briefly establish your plans to visit Canada and guarantee a smooth admission, bring supporting documentation such as a return ticket, proof of cash, and an itinerary.
If you want to stay in Canada for an extended amount of time, such as for employment or study, you must apply for the necessary visa or permission before arriving.
