How to travel to Canada from Denmark with the ETA
To travel to Canada from Denmark with an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), you can follow these steps:
- Apply for a Canada eTA: Complete the eTA application online through the Canada Immigration Services website. Provide your personal information and passport details, and answer the required questions accurately. Pay the applicable fee for the eTA application using a valid credit card. After submitting your eTA application and payment, you will receive a confirmation email with the status of your application. This process usually takes a few minutes, but sometimes, a decision may take a few days.
- Check approved eTA Status: Once authorized, your Canada eTA for Danish citizens will be electronically connected to your passport. While the airline or immigration authorities will be able to retrieve your eTA details during check-in or upon arrival at a Canadian port of entry, visitors should have physical copies or carry printed documents with them.
- Travel to Canada: Check that your passport is valid for the length of your planned stay in Canada. When traveling, provide your valid passport to the airline or immigration agents, who will electronically check your eTA status.
Please keep in mind that the eTA is only valid for flight travel into Canada. You do not need an eTA if you want to enter Canada by land or water. In such instances, you can enter Canada by presenting your valid passport to Canadian border officials.
