Is Arrivecan still required to enter Canada by land
No. If you want to visit Canada in 2024, you will not need to provide proof of immunization or testing. You will also no longer be randomly picked for a COVID-19 exam after arriving in Canada. The ArriveCAN app is still available, but foreign travelers are no longer compelled to use it.
Despite the relaxation of the COVID-19-related measures in Canada, it is still required to apply for an eTA in Canada. If you are flying to Canada for a vacation, a business trip, a visit to friends or family, or to transit to another country, you must apply for an eTA first. Minors must have their eTA. You do not need to apply for an eTA Canada if you already have a visa or a Canadian or US passport, or if you come by rail, automobile, bus, or (cruise) ship.
ETA Canada is valid for a maximum of five years. Within the validity period of the eTA, you can travel to Canada an unlimited number of times. Each stay can last up to six consecutive months.
The validity period expires as soon as the passport you used to apply for your eTA expires. The validity period ends when the passport you used to apply for your eTA expires. If you have a new passport, you will need to apply for a new eTA visa. Your eTA should only be valid during check-in and upon arrival in Canada. Your passport must be valid for your whole stay in Canada.
