Is Canadian eTA linked to a passport?
When your Canada eTA is approved, it will be connected to the passport you used to apply. You must display this passport while checking in for your flight to Canada.
The airline personnel will scan your passport to ensure you have a valid eTA. You cannot board your aircraft if you do not have one.
Applying for a Canada ETA is a straightforward online process that just takes a few minutes. Most applicants receive their eTA clearance (by email) within minutes. However, if you are required to submit supporting documentation, some requests may take up to three days to process. It is essential to obtain an eTA before booking a ticket to Canada.
You will need your passport, a credit card, and an email address to complete the form.
You can visit Canada as frequently as you wish for short visits (usually up to six months at a time) if you have a valid eTA. For travel within Canada, you do not require an eTA.
