Is it safe to travel to Toronto right now?
The answer is yes. Toronto is safe, and Canada is safe to visit, ranking 11th on the 2023 Global Peace Index.
However, as Canada's largest metropolis, Toronto is as hazardous as any other major city globally.
Toronto is a bustling cosmopolitan city with plenty of exciting things to see and do, with a multicultural population of 6 million residents in the Greater Toronto Area and more than 27 million tourists annually. There are several museums, attractions, and historic places to explore, as well as notable Canadian monuments, various neighborhoods, and a diversified cuisine scene.
However, there are specific criminal and social difficulties in Toronto, such as a growing homelessness crisis in recent years. And, like any large metropolis, there are particular areas to avoid.
When you visit Toronto, you will want to see all the excellent attractions and places the city offers. However, you're undoubtedly thinking about the safest and best route to travel.
The city is actually relatively compact—downtown Toronto is approximately 16.6 square kilometers in size! It also has a variety of transportation alternatives, making it relatively easy to travel around.
I've traveled about in almost every way possible throughout my stay here and have never felt uncomfortable. However, each has its own set of hazards, and it's essential to be aware before venturing into the city.
