Is my eTA still valid if my passport has expired/changed?
The ETA is no longer valid if the traveler's passport has expired or has been changed for any other reason. In other cases, if you worry about your passport being expired after completing the Canada ETA. This is not going to happen because one of the requirements for applying for a Canada e-visa is that your passport must be valid at least 6 months from the date of first entry.
To be qualified for a Canada ETA, travelers must fulfill some basic requirements following:
- Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of issuing. For a visa stamp, the passport must have more than two bank pages. If your passport is about to expire, you should visit the Immigration Department to obtain a replacement.
- Applicants' duplicate passport biography page
- A current photograph of the candidates that clearly reveals their features and foreheads. Travelers must not wear any accessories and the background must be white or plain white. The photo can be in whatever size or format you have.
