Should I apply for an eTA a month before flying to Vancouver?

Yes. It is preferable to apply for a Canadian eTA several weeks before your trip. Allow two to three months to ensure that you have accurate and up-to-date information for your application, as well as time to deal with any issues getting papers or a new passport. Although there is no "perfect" moment to apply for a Canada eTA, planning your application a few days ahead of time helps alleviate stress caused by a lack of time or unanticipated developments.
