Can I use global entry to enter Canada?
No, you cannot use Global Entry to enter Canada. To enter Canada, you'll need a valid passport or a Canada visa.
CBP accepts Global entrance cards for authorized entrance into the United States at both land and maritime ports of entry. Global Entry cards include radio frequency identification, allowing them to be used in SENTRI and NEXUS expedited travel lanes while entering the United States. Global entrance cards are not acceptable for entrance into Canada using NEXUS lanes and kiosks. Global Entry cards are not accepted at Global Entry kiosks, which need passports or US legal permanent resident cards. Global Entry cardholders must observe all SENTRI and NEXUS program restrictions while using the card at land and marine ports of entry.
Only U.S. Citizens, U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents, and Mexican nationals are issued Global Entry cards.
If you frequently travel between the U.S. and Canada, you might consider applying for NEXUS, a trusted traveler program that allows expedited clearance for both countries.
