Foreign people from visa-exempt countries must get a transit visa if they arrive by air and stay in Canada for a brief period.
The transit visa is only valid for stays of up to two days (48 hours); tourists who desire to stay longer than that must apply for the kind of visa that corresponds to their reason for travel.
