Do I need proof of vaccination to enter Canada?
No. As of October 1, 2022, proof of vaccination is no longer required to enter Canada, or board a plane or train in Canada. This applies to domestic travel as well as aircraft or trains departing from Canada.
Outside of Canada, you may be required to provide proof of vaccination while entering another country, boarding an aircraft or train, or participating in certain activities. Before you go to another nation, be sure you understand their immunization needs and limits.
However, your evidence does not ensure admittance into another nation. The destination country determines whether or not to accept your proof of immunization. Other nations impose their admission criteria at their borders.
If you do not meet the country's vaccination requirements, you may:
- Be denied entry
- Need to quarantine
- Need to take COVID-19 tests
- Need to meet other requirements when you arrive
The Canadian government does not assist in changing travel arrangements affected by COVID-19 public health measures. Such adjustments would come at your own expense.
