Do Korean citizens need a visa to enter Canada?
No. South Korea is exempt from Canada's usual visa requirements, which means that only South Korean citizens who have a temporary passport, are residents but not citizens, or have refugee status will need to go to a Canadian embassy to obtain another type of Canadian visa using their current passport. South Korean citizens with full citizenship are eligible to apply for a Canada eTA.
The Canada eTA was first used by Canadian immigration in 2015 to examine the acceptability of foreign visitors to Canada and to expedite the eTA application process.
The Canada eTA for South Korean citizens is designed for travelers visiting Canada for the following purposes:

- Vacations
- Family visits
- Business
- Transit
The majority of foreign individuals passing through Canada require a visa to enter and exit the nation. Korean nationals holding an eTA, on the other hand, can travel without a visa if they enter and exit through a Canadian airport.
The Canada eTA for South Korean citizens is not a work permit and does not provide the applicant with Canadian residency.
Because the eTA details are maintained in the Canadian immigration computer system, passengers must have a machine-readable electronic passport. South Korean passports usually are machine-readable, although those who are doubtful may contact Korean passport officials before applying.
