How to travel to Canada from Japan?
Citizens of Japan who wish to travel to Canada need a visa. Fortunately, Japan is one of the countries exempt from Canada visas eligible to apply for Canada eTA. Nationals from Japan need to have an eTA to enter Canada legally.
You should read the following information to learn more about a Canada eTA:
- Canada eTA visa is only applied for airlines.
- Your eTA visa is connected electronically to your passport. You need to get a new eTA visa if you change to a new passport. A Canada eTA will be valid for 05 years from the date of issue or until the passport's expiration date. It is authorized as a multiple-entry visa.
- For each trip, Japanese citizens can stay in Canada for up to 06 months.
- The permitted duration of visiting is 06 months for tourism, business, conference, and visiting family purposes.
- The applicant is required to be over 18. If not, the parents or legal guardian do that instead.
