Do British citizens need an eTA for Canada?
The answer is Yes. According to the visa rule, only the citizens of countries exempt from Canada visas are eligible for a Canada eTA visa. Citizens of the United Kingdom are ELIGIBLE for an eTA and need to have an eTA to enter Canada.
An eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is an entry requirement for citizens of eligible countries traveling to Canada by air. This travel authorization permits its holders to travel to Canada for tourism, or casual visits to their relatives and to remain there for up to 06 months on each trip. It is valid for up to five years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.
The applicants can complete the eTA application form in a matter of minutes. The procedure is not complicated, no paperwork is required, and UK citizens can apply remotely without making long lines at the Embassy or the Consulate.
